I bought my caR in May 2012 with 45k. The dealer threw on the cheapest set of rubber they could find - Nankang NS2's. These tires were like cockroaches - they would not die.

For my safety, I swapped them for these. I would never get rid of tires with 45-50% tread life, but I made an exception.

Long story short, these Pilot Super Sports have literally changed the character of the car.

Good call! R's always like stickier tires.

Sounds like my situation.

I bought my Milan with 45kish on it and the dealer through on Radars. I'm over 83,000 now and I may need to finally replace before another winter.

same here. Bought the car with 67k and the dealership put 2 new low rolling resistance tires on it. I went the cheaper route and just replaced the back two with matching tires, rather than four new ones. The tires had high reviews so it wasn't a bad idea at the time. I regret it though, the car doesn't pull like it did with the two worn tires on it...

The Brits have a hilarious term for those — they call them "ditchfinders." I'd imagine their weather and road conditions necessarily make better tires imperative.

I'm on some cheap tires myself that I'm trying to kill, but my only complaint is that they're horribly loud — it barely rains here and I don't drive like the demon I used to be.

My car came with some LRR garbage Contis (Grand touring something or other) and I replaced them with some Kumho Ecsta 4x (not as fancy as the PSS that you have and that I want!) and the difference was immediate in acceleration, handling and stopping. 10/10 would do again.
